Just strated getting back into strats, especially after getting a Squier Classic Vibe 50's (2tone SB) and a 60's (3 tone SB). I know they're made overseas, but they feel, play, and sound better than ANY Mexico strats (and some US ones as well)

I will see your two strats, and raise you a P bass, and a Tele.

Callaham are great parts, I want to get the vintage bridge for one of my strats. To try to help answer your original question, (as sometimes we tend to bit sidetracked, to say the very least...) I have found that some Squiers are just put together really well, like it was awesome day at the factory in some instances. Other times, not so much. Like it was Monday and everyone came in hung over and still smashed from the weekend and didnt feel like putting guitars together. Many that I have played the switches and knobs have come all loose and fallen off, while on others everything still remains tight. It just depends, I guess.
Best of luck to you in your playing, and welcome to the forum. You'll find we are all a very informative bunch (when we can stay on topic)

Man, I wish I woulda picked up this guitar thing a little earlier. And not like, at 33. Whatever.
I agree about the Squiers, some ARE really good, some...errr, not so.
Then again I've gone and checked out the American ones, and they are consistent...as long as the store takes care of them, which is true for any guitar.
I've had some experiences with a store where the US teles and strats were in terrible shape...popped frets like tiny knives, warped necks.

This holds true with any line, any manufacturer.

Stores dont take care of guitars, they pull them out of the box and put them on a hanger...your lucky if they take the time to tune em.

Thats because they have been on the shelf for so long, the AC has dried them up of all humidity.
