Do you like metallic clang/chime?

I spent a lot of time and money looking in the wrong places to get this sound out of my 3 single coil American Series Strat. Many of you probably have known this for years, but for those who don't I am advising you to use the pickup selector #2 which is the combined bridge/middle pickups. Why I didn't try this on my own escapes me.But I read this on another post.I first was attracted to this sound on Buddy Holly's early rockabilly records.Nowdays, you hear it all the time. Its a very musical clang that your chord makes.I can get it with my amp set fairly clean, but you can experiment if you like a slightly different sound.

I forgot to mention, I replaced the stock bridge pickup with a Fender Original 57/62 which has fewer windings than the stock one. This of course make the bridge pickup cleaner..less hot.But it is still the combined bridge/middle pickups selection 2 to get what I am talking about.I may have been able to get this tone with my stock bridge pickup,I just didn't know to try.
