Oh man, they shipped it in a standard stock box with no indication that it was fragile! I reckon it had been thrown about a fair bit on the journey, the magnet had parted company with the speaker and done a wrecking ball job. It took out all 3 tubes, the output transformer and the speaker chassis.
I took pictures and sent them to the vendor, I bought it factory direct through taobao (China's version of ebay). They are making a new one now, should be here soon. I used a friends account to buy it, and she has handled everything well. We told them it was an evaluation sample to see if there was potential to re-brand and export. So hopefully they'll do a better job on this one. To be honest, apart from the carry handle, the components look a bit cheap, especially the pots but there's only 2 of them so no big deal. I was figuring I'd have to change out the tubes and speaker anyway. It's gonna be a fun little project to see how good I can get it to sound, and educate myself about tube amps.

Did you want to keep that kind twang just not as brittle? Never had any experience with dimarzzio pickups so i dont know about that one,

I thought about humbuckers cut to fit single coil. But everyone says dont do it youll lose you original tele sound. I thought about the dimarzzio chopper- t.
